EAGLE SPORTSMAN
Service Details
The vessel was brought to our facility with the owner reporting a significant loss of engine power, excessive smoke from the exhaust, and intermittent failure of the navigation lights.
Upon inspection, our certified marine technician performed a comprehensive diagnostic assessment of the engine and electrical systems. The following issues were identified and addressed:
Engine: A compression test revealed low compression in two cylinders. Further inspection confirmed worn piston rings and carbon buildup on the valves. An engine overhaul was performed, which included:
Disassembly and cleaning of the engine block.
Replacement of all pistons, rings, and bearings.
Grinding and reseating of all valves.
Replacement of all gaskets and seals.
Reassembly of the engine to manufacturer's specifications.
Replacement of the water pump impeller and thermostat for preventative maintenance.
Electrical System: An inspection of the electrical system revealed corroded wiring and a faulty switch in the main navigation light circuit. The repair included:
Tracing and replacing the faulty wiring from the helm to the bow light.
Replacing the defective navigation light switch on the main console.
Testing of all other electrical components to ensure proper function.
